Sencha Fukamushi 2020
Sencha Fukamushi deep steamed and shade grown, from Uji, Kyoto, Japan. A very expressive refreshing Sencha with a beautiful bright emerald green color.
Sencha Fukamushi, deep steamed, shade grown. The varieties used are Yabukita, Okumidori and others. This sencha has a smooth and soft taste and a refreshing scent. The tea color is light green, unlike most senchas which produce a yellow infusion. The tea leaves of this sencha are shade grown for a period of about 5 to 7 days just before harvest, to deepen the flavor and sweetness, for a nice balance between the sweetness of shade grown tea and the freshness of sencha. The tea is steamed longer than usual with sencha, thus called Sencha Fukamushi, or deep steamed sencha, the result is that the tea releases its taste very easily. This tea is very suitable for iced tea, because of its short brew time. Also 'cold brew' as well as 'hot brew' produces a very nice liquor!
