Shan Lin Xi High Mountain Oolong, from Shan Lin Xi, Nantou, Taiwan, hand-picked and processed in spring 2023. This tea is slightly oxidized and the variety is Cui Yu (TTES 13). The height of the crop is about 1900 meters and the tea plantations have been established in Shan Ling Xi since the 1970s. High mountain oolong is also called Gaoshan, or Gao Shan Cha.

The height of the crop is about 1900 meters and the tea plantations have been established in Shan Ling Xi since the 1970s. The tightly rolled tea has a somewhat elongated shape, such as the shape of the head of a dragonfly. Shan Ling Xi Wulong has an exquisite soft taste with a hint of flowers. The butter-soft tea has a light astringent and has a refreshing, cleansing effect on the palate; this tea is ideal after a heavy meal.
Due to the weather conditions at this altitude, where the temperature differences between day and night are enormous, the tea plants harden. These conditions increase the level of aromas, taste and complexity of the tea. During spring and summer, these mountains are regularly covered in mist and mist, alternating with periods of bright sunlight and clear blue skies. Because of this unique climate in the high mountains, this is an excellent region for growing complex and aromatic Formosa Oolongs. High mountain oolong is also called Gaoshan, or Gao Shan Cha.
